I never wanted to be this,

Just another brick in the wall.

Untoward life, made me

Take steps I don’t even recall.

I dream of suits and ties now,

But once all I wanted was a cape.

Smile came easily somehow,

Lesser we know, lesser we fake.

As a learned I am well in doubt,

But in my adolescence I new I could

Save the world and bring her about,

Long ago before I really understood.
