A trench coat hanging besides the door
reminds of the harsh wind outside.
Studded with princely buttons
and laced with the royal blue stripe,
desired by the members of the house
it remains hung for the house’s very wise.
While most remain deluded due to its splendor,
they forget the story which brought it home.
One endured a war and carried valor
40 years ago while in the middle of a storm.
Bare and cold then, fetched the brave
a coveted coat of warmth.
Where most wish to look suave in it,
it only fits the wise’s length.
Great poetry❤
