Why to write a Poem?

This Poem is a tutorial on “Why to write a Poem?”. In this Poem, I am going to let go of all that keeps me sane. It’s madness around this place people!!! Let me add some light hearted comedy and madness from my side as well.

Yes, I know that the world is going through a Tough time and I stand with you all. But, yes, BUT in this hour of worry, let me do what I can do… Take your mind off the sadness and concern for a moment and bring smile to your face (at least try to).

Anyway, just forget everything till you reach the last line and read it from a blank perspective.

Why to write a Poem?

Once I was walking through the Park,

Where I met, Mr. Jolly.

Mr. Jolly was happy because, in the Dark was Mr. Gloomy.

But then the Sun decided to shift,

And reveal the existence of latter.

My. Jolly’s smile took a drift upon seeing his terminator.

Both hated each other,

Each one ending other’s vacation.

Sons of the all mother, they were the balancers of every creation.

Ignorant of the novelty they refused to talk,

So I called a Poet to square things even.

In his own way he took them for a walk, rhyming helps to see what we believe in.

A Poem looks similar to all,

Yet is taken with different meanings,

Through rhymes we take your call, Poem strikes a balance between feelings.

Unconditional Inability

Learn to appreciate what we have, and learn from what we see. Even from each other.

The Poet and the Pen invites it’s readers for a good Sunday Sustaining good thoughts and wishes. If any of you fellow writers/readers have something you would like to share, the platform is yours. Let’s cherish this! 🙂

Unconditional Inability

Most powerful beings we say.

Are we though?

We live life on what may,

Thinking that we run the show.

Truth is we are mere characters,

Able to govern what will only perish.

For the rest it’s an Unconditional Inability.

Why change what we can just cherish?

Not everything needs improvement,

For we would be the first ones if so.

Sometimes it’s okay to be an audience…

Take your belongings after the show.

Reality Check

I see comparison in the name of equality, but why? Man and Woman are two sides of the same coin, aren’t they?

Typical images are no longer valid.

Both Venus and Mars revolve around the Sun.

Life has moved on at a pace so rapid,

Yet the comparison seems to be undone.

Man, the strong and tough all times,

Too faces agony and tears.

Want to hold hands or cry aren’t crimes,

We are fearless despite our fears.

We hold, protect, preserve, and care,

Nothing which the other doesn’t do.

Man is one who takes on a dare,

Weak at expressing but our love is true.

Woman, the source of life and heart,

Too sweats to earn bread and butter.

Want to be independent and have her own start,

Doesn’t make her any less of a mother.

She is practical despite her emotions.

Her beautiful eyes hold a fire so true.

She holds, protects, preserves, and care.

Nothing which the other doesn’t do.

World needs both the sides,

Both the sides make one coin.

Without one the other cannot stride,

Dots are there but we ignore to join.

Just smile at the end of the day, that’s all. It’s that simple.

Finding the lost

To all those who love to get lost and find something new about themselves, I urge you to get up and just take the road less travelled.

Placid Place

Someone asked me about the Happiest day of my life, I couldn’t answer then but I can answer now.

The Poem which got me into India’s one of the biggest Poetry Societies’ E-Magazine: Placid Place

It was around 4 in the evening,

Birds were flying back to their nests.

Ambered eyes due to the sky were deceiving,

When I realised, we are all but Guests.

At an altitude high above the citylife,

Surrounded in the serenity of nature,

While in harmony with the elements five.

I found the happiest day of my life.

Every accomplishment seemed futile,

Every being seemed related,

I was in Nature and Nature was in me,

Negativity became outdated.

Wind bore messages from trees and streams,

Water carried a thousand dreams,

Fire inside was reignited,

When Earth absorbed my screams.

Elated and rejuvenated was I when hugged,

By Nature who ended all my strife.

For whenever Nature’s sound is plugged,

To me that is the Happiest day of my life.

To you, for you.

Sacrificing Hobby

Hey ordinary, how do you do?

Upset? when someone says this to you,

I won’t apologise for being true,

For you did this to yourself, didn’t you?

Hobbies are trademarks of individuality,

They may sound same but that’s the only similarity,

For your hobby and your personality,

Combined contribute to your singularity.

You had/have a gift,

But you chose to let it go.

If you think your hobby cannot lift,

Look at the legends on whom are the TV shows.

No, it’s not late, it’s still out there,

Go on, run after it, catch it and stare,

Grow together, learn and preach,

Your Hobby is your flair.

Pressing issues #1

Over the next few weeks I’ll be writing on issues I think needs to be addressed. The series will be called Pressing Issues.

Topic #1

Taking someone’s misery as a Joke.

It’s hypocritical of us and our laughter.

When we feel pain we want the World’s ear

But when it’s time to lend the same, we say

“Chill dude, don’t bother or care”.

Congratulations, you have just added to the pain,

How much will it cost to just bear?

If someone opens up, be sane,

Handle other’s misery with care.

~ Your little time can help them for a while.

From my bed to the main door

Every morning I take 30 steps,

From my bed to the main door.

Game for the day thus sets in motion,

30 steps determine how much I will score.

All the while I seek 3 lines,

What do I want to do today?

How bad do I want it?

Where do I need to improve?

What I want is to do better than yesterday,

And I want this feeling every single day.

I lack skills in every direction,

I suppose I am an idiot is what we should all say.

With these 30 I leave my house,

Ready to dance to today’s tune,

Every morning from my bed to the main door,

I set myself up as the World impugns.
