Irony

What is life without mistakes?

A mere journey with no learning and sense of accomplishment. So while the world associates mistakes with something negative, let me tell you why I believe they are essential and wonderful.

Keep making mistakes but never repeat one.

Mistakes

You learn only when you try,

And trying comes with its proof.

Learn to look your mistakes in the eye,

For mistakes are never aloof.

Each new mistake has a new take,

And a message to never repeat again.

Remember, it is your goal which is at stake,

Keep learning every now and then.

This is his story. A story which created history. Very few know him, even fewer understand him and perhaps no one ever got to see the real him.

Who is he?

He is anyone, everyone, and no one.

This is our story. A story of which we all are a part of.

His-Story
A con man with an uncommon genuine smile,
Predicating an image that is still unclear,
Is always facing some or the other trial,
For his mind has both courage and fear.

Humble at the very core but not so much on the skin,
Just like the world we so much adore, we too are on a spin.
And to win?, Con man must be a kin,
And so we all have this evil twin.

Passionate is another charm of time,
Without which nothing is fine.
Each step in life is like a line.
His story is for him to design.

To be truthful, not being truthful is alright,
For with situations we need to change our sight.
Lose if you must for trying is right,
His story speaks about everyone's fight.

Coming back…

Ironic!

A live street in an iconic city,

Yet everything seems dull as a desert.

Pages are blank while the Pen is witty,

Ironically the writer is unable to assert.

Which brings into question the reason for this,

This void of thoughts in an ever thinking mind.

And as the writer seeks the miss,

He lost his eyes and turned blind.

Chair right in the front made a noise,

As if someone just came and sat.

And in a sound similar to mine, said

“It’s time for you to have a chat”

I listened as I narrated an old story,

Who, What, Why and When came back.

A poet who was in his prime and glory,

Is in need of a whole new track.

And no one else could tell me that,

For no one else knows me for I.

Yes, sometimes you need to put on the wise old hat,

And look for yourself with a blind eye.

The story he narrated is different for each of us,

And so is the struggle, so is the fuss.

Suddenly the voice muted and I could see,

A new path and an awaiting bus…

Straight to the Milky Way's heart

Einstein had it right. Time is relative. That guy sure knew what he was talking about but it got me to wondering, did we get what he was talking about?

Well, most of your are think if we travel faster than the speed of light we will leave time behind or something on those lines and you are not wrong. If we do travel at the speed of light, time will move slowly for us than it does for those who are on Earth. Well, that’s that. However, since you are on a Poetry blog listening to a poet, things have to be presented and understood from a different angle. The Poetic angle.

I am sure you must have waited for something in your life and that you must have spent some time which you felt passed away way too quickly. Now, isn’t that a catch? Relativity here as well??

So here goes…

Theory of Relativity

While sitting on my allotted train seat,

And staring out the moving cabin,

I awaited a long longed letter.

The trickster time kept varying its spin.

Slow, it was moving very slow indeed,

So I compared it with a different time.

One where I was full of excitement and laughter,

While committing a ridiculous crime.

In the blink of an eye, I remembered,

That time passed me by.

Funny enough now that I see,

My e-letter too just arrived. Secret is,

When we start doing what we adore,

Even the slow clock starts to fly.

Good Morning Reader!

Weekend is here and nothing brings us more joy than a Saturday Morning.

Keeping the joy and excitement alive, I plan to give you a paheli that will amuse you and add to the randomness we all long and love in our life.

Now this paheli or puzzle if you may is going to be in the form of a Poem (Wow! As if you didn’t know :P)

But before I go on to the fun part, I have but a small request…

Comment one puzzle for everyone to solve or, state the most random thing you would like to do this weekend

Paheli

A dim-wit once said, ” I am smart,

Smart if you think I am Silly.

In this play of ours I play my part,

Heart is wiser than mind. Really?

Amidst the horde I feel cold,

While in winter I am warm.

I gave money for the items I sold,

And it worked on everyone like a charm.

Days are long and nights are short,

Months are slower than years,

I live in my 3 bedroom fort,

Where the dust is very clear.”

A dim-wit once said, ” I am silly,

As Silly is the new smart.

You are more than these labels really,

So who am I in your chart?”

~ A wise dim-wit idiot.

To most it was a blanket to curl in,

But for one it was a cape.

While the sleeping slept after their win,

The innocent one took on a hero’s shape.

Innocence makes the world so different,

For they see what anyone would do.

But their interpretations are invigorant,

Do you remember the last time you flew?

Powered with strength, powered with energy,

Power to spread laughter and joy,

The blanketed hero can avert any jeopardy,

As would any who knew evil can only toy.

Add some innocence to the seriousness

I came up with this tag line during the very initial days of my blog. I remember, we were sitting in my hostel room and talking about palindrome when I saw on this piece of paper with Read to know written on it.

Thus began, Read to know…know to read catch phrase. Not exactly a palindrome by definition but yeah that’s pretty much the story. Today I am here ready to post by 100th Poem and it really has been a journey so far.

To many more to come and to this 100th, Read to know…know to read.

Satisfyingly unsettled

Birds were flocking back to their nests,

While the set was glowing orange and red.

Amidst the settling sand they give their best,

And remain Satisfyingly unsettled for ahead.

What more can you truly achieve apart from a simple try?

Question to be asked in the presence of stars…

Was my effort a truth or a lie?

Regardless of answer strategy says, “Try”.

Remain satisfied with what you did,

But dare not settle ever in life.

Greed is not doing my bid,

It is the positive satisfying drive.

Satisfyingly unsettled is to perform, rest, and strive.
