Finding

Few years back I had set out to find

Something.

I found it but

It didn’t change anything.

Why would it?

I just wanted to find it

And never meant to understand

The purpose and the use.

Tomorrow I am setting out to find

Something.

I hope this time…

Nightly Fiasco

♦ Hey, it’s almost night time here. Ready for those post 2 a.m. thoughts?

As the Sun settles down,

It takes away a part of us.

The part which keeps us sound,

The part which we show to the world.

And when the Moon takes the sky,

It showers a light on us.

Silver light which brings out something…

Something which we don’t discuss.

Night time does have this affect,

And these thoughts are the most private ones.

But when it starts to overwhelm,

Close your eyes and end the pretense.

Eventually sleep will engulf your realm

And in dreams these thoughts will make sense.

If they don’t, tell yourself : “It was just a dream.”

250: Thank You

250th post. Each Post (on The Poet and the Pen) is done with the sole purpose of spreading a message. Message of Care, Fun, Love, Laughter, Happiness and Emotions.

I grow each and every day through this blog and many of you out there who just like me are on a quest to make the world a better place, I want to say Thank You.

We blog not for likes, comments, shares or anything. We blog so that someone who reads this irrespective of his country, location, colour, language and situation gets to know that we are here, we are with you and if we can do it so can you.

Lots of Love.

For every tear that you dropped in silence,

For every goodbye that scathed your heart,

For every smile that you projected despite inner violence,

For every day you played your part,

For every friend you lost and let go,

For every enemy you won by letting go,

For every step you took for a better tomorrow,

For every brave moment you faced your inner sorrow,

For every harsh truth you accepted,

For proving that you cannot be defeated,

For not treating the world as you were treated,

For spreading the good message that your misery created,

Thank You.

आजकल

Somewhere down the line humans failed humanity.

Blessed are those who can read tangled lines and see things straight. This Poem has been inspired from someone who recently made me realise the importance of Silence and Absence and to that Person, I just want to say, “You know what you mean to me and I am glad to have you as a friend nay Brother”.

O’ believer, I believe so as well,

Silence and Absence created the tell.

But Voice lured them in and casted a spell,

Dooming their purpose, standing as they fell.

Forever synonymous to weakness,

The righteous ones had become undesired.

Shadowing their power and uniqueness.

But epiphany struck Voice bit too hard,

Or believer’s believed one played his card.

Through ears Voice whispered of the two nobles,

And repented its action while they starred.

For far too long they were misjudged and away,

Silence and Absence of Words too can say,

Messages that resound, reason and stay.

Little Lucy

A Letter to a loved one. To all those who stay away from their loved ones and miss them desperately at times.

Hey little one, how are you?

Your brother misses you too.

I hope you have learnt to tie your laces,

And did Father take you to the Zoo?

It’s been a while since I saw your face,

As annoying as you can be, I love our chase.

I wonder if my room is still mine?

Nonetheless, in my heart you will always have your space.

Dear Lucy, times are tough.

You might not see me anytime soon.

But you have to do something very important,

My dear Brave Captain, Angel of June.

Keep making everyone smile,

You beautiful kid, I am so proud.

You know, when you laugh I can hear in my heart,

Dear Lucy, when you miss me look at the clouds above.

I will hug you soon one day,

Take you to the places where you want to stay.

Buy you all the toys and candies,

And sit quietly and do as you say.

When I get tired I think of you,

You are my inspiration, my strength too,

Until the day you see your big brother,

I want you to read this, “I love you too”.

Fact

Vigilant I am and so are you,

Understatement it would be to say,

We are oblivious of what is true.

Conundrum is we chose to ignore,

For as long as we aren’t directly affected by it too.

True, we have enough on our plates already,

But would it really be too much to not be petty?

Odds are you have taken a stand and are ready,

One good deed can make the other steady.

~ This one is without an audio because, I want you to speak it to yourself and not hear from another.

Keep reading, writing, and helping.

Why to write a Poem?

This Poem is a tutorial on “Why to write a Poem?”. In this Poem, I am going to let go of all that keeps me sane. It’s madness around this place people!!! Let me add some light hearted comedy and madness from my side as well.

Yes, I know that the world is going through a Tough time and I stand with you all. But, yes, BUT in this hour of worry, let me do what I can do… Take your mind off the sadness and concern for a moment and bring smile to your face (at least try to).

Anyway, just forget everything till you reach the last line and read it from a blank perspective.

Why to write a Poem?

Once I was walking through the Park,

Where I met, Mr. Jolly.

Mr. Jolly was happy because, in the Dark was Mr. Gloomy.

But then the Sun decided to shift,

And reveal the existence of latter.

My. Jolly’s smile took a drift upon seeing his terminator.

Both hated each other,

Each one ending other’s vacation.

Sons of the all mother, they were the balancers of every creation.

Ignorant of the novelty they refused to talk,

So I called a Poet to square things even.

In his own way he took them for a walk, rhyming helps to see what we believe in.

A Poem looks similar to all,

Yet is taken with different meanings,

Through rhymes we take your call, Poem strikes a balance between feelings.

Unconditional Inability

Learn to appreciate what we have, and learn from what we see. Even from each other.

The Poet and the Pen invites it’s readers for a good Sunday Sustaining good thoughts and wishes. If any of you fellow writers/readers have something you would like to share, the platform is yours. Let’s cherish this! 🙂

Unconditional Inability

Most powerful beings we say.

Are we though?

We live life on what may,

Thinking that we run the show.

Truth is we are mere characters,

Able to govern what will only perish.

For the rest it’s an Unconditional Inability.

Why change what we can just cherish?

Not everything needs improvement,

For we would be the first ones if so.

Sometimes it’s okay to be an audience…

Take your belongings after the show.

Reality Check

I see comparison in the name of equality, but why? Man and Woman are two sides of the same coin, aren’t they?

Typical images are no longer valid.

Both Venus and Mars revolve around the Sun.

Life has moved on at a pace so rapid,

Yet the comparison seems to be undone.

Man, the strong and tough all times,

Too faces agony and tears.

Want to hold hands or cry aren’t crimes,

We are fearless despite our fears.

We hold, protect, preserve, and care,

Nothing which the other doesn’t do.

Man is one who takes on a dare,

Weak at expressing but our love is true.

Woman, the source of life and heart,

Too sweats to earn bread and butter.

Want to be independent and have her own start,

Doesn’t make her any less of a mother.

She is practical despite her emotions.

Her beautiful eyes hold a fire so true.

She holds, protects, preserves, and care.

Nothing which the other doesn’t do.

World needs both the sides,

Both the sides make one coin.

Without one the other cannot stride,

Dots are there but we ignore to join.
