Can I?

Often in the evening strolls

a realisation sneaks up

which recalls something really tough.

Should I continue or give up?

The stigma of latter can be rough

but what if I am fed up?

Nothing will ever be enough.

Characterisation has made it hard to give up

even on something which makes me miserable.

So I started to bluff to myself…

The worst kind of gamble.

Please don’t berate me for leaving now.

I tried but couldn’t finish somehow.

Only a human, I am.

I wish I had a backspace key now.

Regardless of what they say,

What they say does matter.

Let me find a better way,

Allow me to choose the latter.

I shall come back better,

I shall come back brighter,

I will feel honest and lighter.

Giving up does not make me any less of a fighter.

If something makes you miserable, there is no shame in giving it up. Giving up to try something new is actually a sign of bravery.

Dropped conspiracy

I dropped it that day

And it broke.

Hundreds of pieces got scattered,

For me to collect again.

But I remember that my hands didn’t fail

And my fingers opened voluntarily.

Perhaps it was necessary,

A beautiful conspiracy

Which later proved to be a therapy.

Sometimes the mistakes that we do are actually done deliberately by our subconscious mind. Later we realise that it was a necessary therapy for us.

Nishant, The Poet and the Pen

Finding

Few years back I had set out to find

Something.

I found it but

It didn’t change anything.

Why would it?

I just wanted to find it

And never meant to understand

The purpose and the use.

Tomorrow I am setting out to find

Something.

I hope this time…

Without training wheels

Remember how hard it was when you started learning how to ride a bike?

Today when you look back at it, it seems easy. Well, that’s pretty much how life is.

Hey dad, look!

I am riding without training wheels.

Guess you were right,

Wounds incurred while learning heals.

I wish life was also like that,

As simple as riding a bike.

For I am trying to balance,

Failing by falling at every strike.

Or maybe these are learnings too,

So these wounds shall also heal fast.

Life (if) is like a bike,

Let’s balance like we did in the past.

When One crosses the line

With just a few words and gestures that day,

Everything became foreign between them.

A peaceful relation became mayhem,

A friendship had forever lost its way.

Spoken words fade but memories do stay,

Vile memories which can only condemn,

And remind you of your time with them,

A time you once thought would forever stay.

Yet you move on and live the old fraction,

For that is life and this is our nature.

And every good memory becomes a fiction,

Words can make a friend into a stranger.

None wins but ego with satisfaction,

Because on Sorry none had made any wager.

Unconditional Inability

Learn to appreciate what we have, and learn from what we see. Even from each other.

The Poet and the Pen invites it’s readers for a good Sunday Sustaining good thoughts and wishes. If any of you fellow writers/readers have something you would like to share, the platform is yours. Let’s cherish this! 🙂

Unconditional Inability

Most powerful beings we say.

Are we though?

We live life on what may,

Thinking that we run the show.

Truth is we are mere characters,

Able to govern what will only perish.

For the rest it’s an Unconditional Inability.

Why change what we can just cherish?

Not everything needs improvement,

For we would be the first ones if so.

Sometimes it’s okay to be an audience…

Take your belongings after the show.

An addict

Addicts are already struggling, don’t add to their misery.

It’s not that I am scared of the reality,

I tried my best but I failed.

This burden with whom I cannot agree,

Has led me to become an addict, jailed.

Instead of a bail, I hear virdict,

Even from those who aren’t even a judge.

Failing miserably doesn’t make me a convict,

For I did try, I did drudge.

My time seems near for I have walked far,

But even misery can make you wise.

Next time you see an addict in a bar,

Don’t judge but look into their eyes.

After over two years of Blogging in English, I am here to surprise my readers…

I do not only write Poems in English, I have another side to my Poetry.

Hindi Poetry…

Yes, for the first time let me show you my creation in Hindi and to all the Non-hindi folks, I request you to please listen the audio and feel the beauty of my mother tongue, the beauty of this evergreen Indian Language.

So, with love and creativity from this beautiful land of Hindustan (India), read to know…know to read, A Poem in Hindi.

Take on Mistakes

What is life without mistakes?

A mere journey with no learning and sense of accomplishment. So while the world associates mistakes with something negative, let me tell you why I believe they are essential and wonderful.

Keep making mistakes but never repeat one.

Mistakes

You learn only when you try,

And trying comes with its proof.

Learn to look your mistakes in the eye,

For mistakes are never aloof.

Each new mistake has a new take,

And a message to never repeat again.

Remember, it is your goal which is at stake,

Keep learning every now and then.
