Why to write a Poem?

This Poem is a tutorial on “Why to write a Poem?”. In this Poem, I am going to let go of all that keeps me sane. It’s madness around this place people!!! Let me add some light hearted comedy and madness from my side as well.

Yes, I know that the world is going through a Tough time and I stand with you all. But, yes, BUT in this hour of worry, let me do what I can do… Take your mind off the sadness and concern for a moment and bring smile to your face (at least try to).

Anyway, just forget everything till you reach the last line and read it from a blank perspective.

Why to write a Poem?

Once I was walking through the Park,

Where I met, Mr. Jolly.

Mr. Jolly was happy because, in the Dark was Mr. Gloomy.

But then the Sun decided to shift,

And reveal the existence of latter.

My. Jolly’s smile took a drift upon seeing his terminator.

Both hated each other,

Each one ending other’s vacation.

Sons of the all mother, they were the balancers of every creation.

Ignorant of the novelty they refused to talk,

So I called a Poet to square things even.

In his own way he took them for a walk, rhyming helps to see what we believe in.

A Poem looks similar to all,

Yet is taken with different meanings,

Through rhymes we take your call, Poem strikes a balance between feelings.

My Odyssey

This day is special for me for today the clock will stop and reset. Make tomorrow the same for you and go get them!!!

I speak to you directly today,

Today there are no boundaries.

You may keep hiding but I will say,

Regardless of the enmity or the camaraderie.

Journey was tough till this point,

No, I don’t seek any validation.

Every hour, every step and every point,

I have accepted each and every conviction.

But now it’s time, time I had allotted for myself,

To rise and say, “Not anymore”.

To my comrades I will make you proud,

And to my haters, I challenge a dare.

29-Feb-2020, is the day I leap for the year,

This point will be a mark in my Odyssey,

Come what may, be it courage or fear.

Aim is to walk, even when the path is unclear.

एक बात बताता हूँ

In the world of freedom and social media, I find it funny that people are facing more and more difficulty in expressing themselves. The constant fear of being judged and being looked down upon has made an entire generation a closed book.

Most common cause of depression is the absence of proper emotional outlet.

Something is not right, and I guess we all know what that something is. Let us encourage each other to speak our hearts out. Speak up, let your feelings to come out into the world and make sure you do the same for others.

I dealt with a problem similar to this some time back and it is daunting. A poet who plays with words looking for ways to express himself is both funny and sad at the same time.

I promise to be an ear for all those who need to speak for I know how important it is to speak up and get heard.

The Poet and the Pen is all ears and will be always there if someone needs an ear. But for now, let me tell you what I want everyone to hear. Come, I need to tell you something.

A conversation

I seek a conversation with me,

But I rarely can manage time.

So I asked, when will I be free?,

Some time during the rhyme.

Amidst all the hustle and bustle,

I found time for everything else,

Life presents opportunities only after tussle,

Opportunities encoded in the book we write for ourselves.

So take a walk and talk during the walk,

For at times you need to hear it from yourself.

Each solution that I need,

Is right next to me round the clock.

Story

Chapter 1.

Ageless, faceless, nameless protagonist,

Existing only in the “World of Words”.

A brief account of nature and character,

Which the writer never said but you heard.

Chapter 2.

A recollection of an event that sends,

Ripples even to days of now.

Effects, either good or bad, from those bends,

Navigates the author’s pen as it ploughs.

Chapter 3.

Trying to steer as per the story,

Whilst making choices of his own.

Decides protagonist’s fall or glory,

Authoring the story of his own.

Chapter 4.

I speak to you says your book,

You who is its writer and its lead.

Your steps is what your story took,

For everyone but the author to read.

Breakfast

Thinking is important, no doubt there. However, there is another act which we need to perform with if not equal than with more tenacity. I am talking about a start. Speaking of… without further adieu, read to know…know to read.

Breakfast

How important is it, a start?

Perhaps the most important of all.

How do we know our ventures will last?

We don’t. With life it is our eternal brawl.

That goal which we always wanted to achieve,

Is waiting on the opposite shore.

Enriched with everything that we believe,

There exists atleast a path or more.

Break this cycle which only ponders,

Nothing happens unless we start.

It better to get lost or wander,

Breakfast if you are smart.

Wise will rise

Fool oh fool stop limiting yourself,

Race of numbers never ends in life.

Judgement of one cannot be done till,

We take into account one’s strife.

None is less nor one is many,

Why competing with another being?

No one is qualified to judge another,

Close your eyes to start seeing.

We agree to have different stories,

With different characters, roles, and sets,

Fool oh fool you need not worry,

Waking up better is the best it gets.

Life

Glimmering Jungle

Every city is like a maze,

Plots with various turns and twist,

Towers of age old touching skies,

A glimmering jungle where we exist.

Each one has it’s own character,

It’s own story and speed of life.

Unique language persists in each,

Concrete jungles where we strife.

Seemingly similar yet not the same,

Something makes these cities alive,

I have played my role in many,

Just like every other who reside.

As I stare at these glimmering jungles,

I see a game unfolding by me.

Funny is this show of light,

Different despite being similar, irony.

To today

What are your plans for this weekend?

What are your plans for this summer?

What are your plans for future?

We all have heard and answered these questions from time to time but tell me, How often do we get asked, What are you going to do today?

I bet the frequency is far less than that of the first three questions.

That is it! That is where we go wrong. We get so involved in planning that we actually forget to do what we had planned earlier.

I know most of us already know about this but sometimes a word from someone else actually helps to put things into perspective. If you too feel that someone needs to read this, please do share by all means.

Read to know…know to read

To Today

We make a mistake every day in our lives,

One which we realise when we read the archives,

Investing all in a day which hasn’t even come,

Slow down dear reader, enjoy the drive.

Plan for future but don’t let go of today,

Time is tricky, it simply passes away,

So before you invest in something uncertain,

Read what Today is trying to say.

Enjoy a laugh with family or with a friend,

Complete that book all the way till the end,

Write down what you feel needs to be penned, Or

Do all that you wished to before the time is spend.

Try and do something you have never done,

Something new and artistic, be it serious or fun,

Be thankful for the day that you have received,

I did what I wanted to, now it is your turn.

The Poet and the Pen

Known Stranger

Take a moment to look around,

Something is voicing underneath that sound,

Hidden in those laughs, those smiles and silence,

Is one common thing that can always be found.

That which is known is not necessary to be heard,

The cure lies in doing something preferred,

Like I do when I feel the need,

“The Poet and the Pen”, World of Words.

Nothing you do will bring you just peace,

For it is not something absolute,

Known Stranger it is whom I speak of,

Adversities are thorns and Goal is the fruit.

Every choice we make comes with a path,

Before you start your journey, prepare your heart.
