Sandwich and Coffee

The world can surely use a lighter tone, right?

We wake up to so many terrible news everyday. War, Explosions, Fire, Murder, Rape, Riots, Protests, this list goes on and on…

Not saying that we should not focus on them, we need to treat them with utmost seriousness but I also believe that at times we should read and think about positives as well. This will help us to keep our mind healthy and calm.

So I want my readers to think of something Positive in their life. Take your time and go back to a very strong positive memory.

Let’s call that memory or feeling as Sandwich and Coffee. 

First steps are always the toughest,

Especially when it comes to betterment.

I am sure your struggle was the roughest,

Because, Steller is your current temperament.

 

So let’s reorder Sandwich and Coffee,

For I am certain you have had some in the past.

Just like the way we treasure our trophy,

Sandwich and Coffee always outlast.

 

Some memories from School should definitely qualify,

Or an evening with friends you cannot let to go by,

Or that moment when your bicycle made you fly,

Or perhaps that drunk night that wasn’t shy.

Maybe that morning when you had dinner,

Or that Crush for whom you portrayed as a winner,

Or that torn dusty t-shirt from when you were thinner,

Maestro!!!, you too were once a beginner.

 

Now hold yourself and stay for sometime,

Sandwich and Coffee are to be enjoyed for a while,

Beautiful memories are important during wartime,

Let’s take a moment out. Enjoy, relax, and smile.

 

Instantaneous

On a cloudy January night, I had an epiphany. So I took out my Laptop, logged onto my blog and started pressing the keys to give shape to my imaginary world.

So far it is going good.

But what is it that I am writing about?

For once, even I do not know and want to keep it like that.

 

By breaking the norm of think and write,

And relentlessly jotting down my words.

I refuse to think about the wrong or right,

And fly freely like birds.

To my surprise I am visioning things,

Which are truly important to me.

For somehow all the unnecessary belongings,

Seem to have been sold for free.

Exhilarating, this feeling, this rush,

This act of doing things in one go.

While brain is flying my words do blush,

Life seems clear when we go with the flow.

Oh thinker be wise and don’t think,

For sometimes just scroll through your mind.

Your memory is the best shrink,

You never know the solutions that you will find.

The Darkest Hour

When the night was dark I saw my bright self.

Nothing and everything seemed so clear.

Pursuit for betterment kept me breathing,

As the night ensured I face my fear.

 

Blooded armour seemed like a robe,

Sweats and tears as medals,

Gloomy night became inspiring,

And thorns became rose petals.

 

Night is darkest just before the dawn,

And not specific to the earthly sky.

From tough times Courage is drawn,

Perhaps day breaks as the bird fly.

Stage yourself

Short but Significant.

 

We decide our own character,

We decide our own cast,

We decide our own script,

But the play is far more vast.

Despite us doing everything, why do we feel like an outcast?

 

Book is one with a single story,

But multiple chapters and lessons.

We fixate on things that shouldn’t make us worry,

Not all ends are conclusions.

 

Each character is a book,

And each book writes itself.

Life only decides the path you last took.

Decide how you want to stage yourself.

Placebo effect

Some days are just special and today is one of those days.

On a day like today I would like to tell you about a loop which never allows us to escape yet it carries the escape with it.

Mind is a fool for it does not know,

Heart controls it whereabout.

And Heart’s a fool for it does not know,

Mind can trick heart without a doubt.

But who is smarter of the two?

Answer divides the Earth in half.

Fact is there is no false or true,

Same situation can make one cry and one laugh.

If you feel Heart is smart,

Tell Heart that everything is alright.

Poor Mind will play its part,

Everything will start to look just right.

And if you think mind is stronger,

Tell Mind that you call the shots.

Poor Heart will beat longer,

And open all the positive slots.

We believe in what we think,

We think about what we believe.

My Flair

A writer sitting in a cafe trying to come up with a work is quite common. But let’s not talk about common things, ordinary things for some time.

Our minds are perhaps the best gift given to us for it allows us to think and do the most amazing stuffs.

Owing to our minds, each and every one of us has a flair. A speciality about ourselves. While I am awaiting for my fellow readers to share/talk about their flair with me, let me share about mine.

My Flair

I am an absolute buffoon.

Not knowing is my speciality.

I sometimes feel like December in June,

But I try to understand everything in its totality.

That is my Flair.

Knocked down several times,

Sometimes due to my lack of guard,

Sometimes due to some uncommitted crimes,

Yet none could get me disbarred,

I keep narrating my triumphs in rhymes.

That is my Flair.

I try to know things,

Unconventional or conventional are bounded by rings,

Fools who keep trying become Kings,

My Flair is my willingness to craft my own wings.

First weekend of 2020. Hi, hope you guys are doing well.

Today I want to emphasize on something we really need to learn, communication.

Let’s see how many actually understand. I have a habit, I do not talk to anyone else or operate my mobile while I am listening to someone and naturally, I expect the same out of others.

No, multitasking is different. Most of us can work on multiple projects at once but what we need to understand is that…

When we stop to listen and only speak, we shun off everyone and everything else.

So, let’s not do that, shall we?

Symmetry

 

After centuries we mastered one art,

By scrambling letters, words, and signs.

Prudent tool with a symmetrical craft,

Is not being used in any way wise.

Symmetry, a two way geometry,

Needs to speak and to listen.

While speaking is perfect and proprietary,

Listening, a way to learn, is somewhat of a fiction.

Since we cannot hear the rest,

Let’s talk to ourselves, the very best,

How much do we actually hear?

While the other talks our response is already clear.

Dear, scholars talk and everyone knows,

But they listen way more than they show,

Keep the mind open and the mouth close,

Communication is a two way flow.
